The Beacon Hills pool hall is the kind of aging establishment you can find all over the world. The building is made of raw brick, an old converted industrial space, with faux Tiffany lamps hanging from heavy chains from the high ceiling. Various pool tables, well-used but in good repair, line the hall floor, which is plain cement laid with an eclectic mix of Persian-style rugs.

Padded backless benches here and there offer places to sit, while the outer walls have tables where one can sit and enjoy a quiet drink. A full bar lines the back wall, looking like a transplant from a weathered old public house. An old jukebox, apparently a reproduction Wurlitzer 1015 "bubbler," has been converted over to play digital music while still offering a sense of old-timey flavor.

Overall, the place exudes an atmosphere of comfort, its style relaxed rather than trendy.
