Tink comes across Hiroto and learns of Starburst, she also learns of a person she doesn't like one bit.

04/19/2017
San Francisco - Marina and Waterfront

It's dangerous to walk around alone at night. That's why Hiroto has his cane! OK, it won't do much against most of the things that would be trying to attack him at night. But he seems confident enough to be out there alone. Confident enough to walk up to a railing and lean against it. He's not looking out over the water, mind. That would be kind of pointless, as the dark glasses on his face would obscure his vision at night. Besides, it's not like he can actually see anyway. He's listening to the waves. Mind, he's also dressed in horribly clashing colors. T-shirt, jeans, a blazer over it, and sneakers on his feet.

Amidst the sound of waves, breeze and marine life, there's another sound that Hiroto might notice tonight. The sound of a faint chorous of ringing bells, which seem to move about in strange spirals, back and forth, before suddenly appearing to come quite near his face. It is actually Tinkerbell, who is now fluttering very near his dark glasses, studying them curiously, before asking, "are you playing hide and seek with yourself?" Ever the inquisitive fairy.

...Bells? Hiroto tilts his head in the direction of the sound. He follows the sound as it moves around, wondering just what it might be. He's unaware of any yokai that use bells. A zashiki warashi? Chopirako? He notes the bells close to his face then, and steps back. Though the question catches him off-guard. But he replies, amused, "I'd lose either way. But why do you ask?" He turns to look in the direction the voice is coming from.

The voice seems to be encircling Hiroto's head, with Tink moving about in her study of his dark glasses, "you hide your eyes...it's a well known hide and seek strategy!" The voice is high pitched, and speaks with conviction, as the bells continue to circle around Hiroto before coming to a stop infront of him again. "Nice taste in clothes! I like colorful!"

Hiroto chuckles. He figures he's talking to a child. But then, that would be a very tall child! "Ah yes, but just because YOU cannot see THEM, does not mean THEY cannot see YOU," he observes. Though the mention of his clothes being colorful gets a... rather sad smile. "Do they clash too much? I can't see their colors. I need to figure out some way to organize them. I'm sure I look like a fashion nightmare."

Wouldn't be that far fetches a guess, pixies tend to be quite childlike in their nature. Or is it perhaps that children exhibit pixie-like qualities before they are stripped away by the boring world of logical adults? The voice is quiet for a moment, and the bells return, as Tink flutters to and fro while thinking the point over. Eventually it seems she agrees, "true. Sometimes I see without being seen! I'm clever that way!" The question about the clothes makes the jingling bells shift all the way down to Hiroto's shoes, and then back up towards his shades. "not at all! You could use more pink and orange and a splatter of green though."

Indeed, Hiroto can tell there is a very childlike nature, whatever's going on. Though he does note the bells moving and realizes that... well, this little one is probably not exactly a normal child. But there are suggestions of colors to add to his wardrobe. "What colors do I have now?" he asks. "All I'm sure of is my shoes are white." His shirt is yellow, his pants are a dark shade of purple, and his blazer is a paisley pattern that has some pink in it. But as Tinkerbell pointed out, there isn't much pink in it, and the salmon mizes with the terra-cotta color quite easily.

"Oh there's not enough...just a bit of white, yellow, purple and a bit of pink but not enough! It's adventurous! I like it." Fluttering up to Hiroto's shoulder, she lands on it, her weight not really notable, though he might feel her two tiny feet resting on his shoulder. The bells becoming much louder when she moves towards his ear and asks, "did you choose it yourself?"

"Ah, that must be that paisley blazer," Hiroto replies. "A friend of mine described it as looking like a unicorn threw up all over it." And then... feet on his shoulder? Her weight might not be noticeable, but his sense of touch is very good, and that's not limited to his hands. He'd blink if he could. Though he does nod to her question. "I did, though I chose it blindly. Literally, as it turns out." But he does have to ask, "Is that you standing on my shoulder?" He doesn't sound upset by it. Just curious.

"That's a very mean thing to say. I don't like your friend." Tinkerbell notes, she's rather quick to make up her mind. "You have a good blind taste," Tink remarks, "I like your outfit." She starts to walk back and forth the length of Hiroto's shoulder, twirling about as she moves, her little wings fluttering now and then gives the tiniest of breeze against Hiroto's cheek. "Yes! It's me and no other! Would you have me get off?" She asks, turning to look curiously at Hiroto.

Hiroto can't help but chuckle at the quick decision made by Tinkerbell. "On the bright side, there are far less auspicious creatures that could have been used for that description," he points out. "But thank you. I appreciate that." The question of her moving gets a light shake of his head. The fluttery wind against his cheek feels like the breeze from a dragonfly's wings, and he smiles. "No, you're all right where you are," he answers her question. "I've never met anyone your size before, is all." He turns his head a little in her direction, to address her properly. "What is your name? Mine is Hiroto."

"Pixies aren't very large, but we are to be respected wherever we go! Everyone knows that!" Tinkerbell lectures as she shifts to sit down, cross legged, on Hiroto's shoulder. "What is the name of your rude friend? I want to know who it is I don't like! Not one bit." She thiinks a moment, considering whether she'd give her name to Hiroto, before stating, "you dress fun enough. I can tell you! I'm Tinkerbell, world's most famous pixie of them all!"

"Ah, I see... a pixie?" Hiroto confirms. "I know very little about pixies. Though I've heard that the people of Mount Horai are about the same size. They supposedly know no evil, so they remain young forever, their hearts never growing heavy with the sorrows of life." As for his 'rude friend'? There is a fond smile there. "I call him 'Oyaji'. He is... well, my father." More or less, anyway. Oh, and a FAMOUS pixie, to boot! Hiroto has no idea that it might just be her ego talking. "Ah, and a pixie royalty as well? An auspicious meeting indeed." He doesn't sound like he's kidding.

Tinkerbell giggles as she listens to the story of Mount Horai and its people, "I'm not evil!" She concurs with at least some of the basis of that story. "Oh? Well, in that case I do not like your father," the fact she just learned that person is Hiroto's dad doesn't sway Tink from her premade opinion of the man. "Yes! Yes! Auspicious!" Tink doesn't correct him, rather liking to be taken for royalty. It feeds her ego, that's for sure. "So now, if you like, you may gift me with a berry! Any berry. Strawberry, blueberry, it can even be raspberry..."

Hiroto smiles. "To be fair, he spent much of his life fighting evil things," he explains. "He never much cared for physical beauty. It can be difficult to see beauty when your eyes are filled with the soot of having to fight evil things." Oh, the mention of berries though? "Oh dear. I'm afraid I don't have any with me." He puts a hand into a pocket. "I do have some Starburst, though. They're supposed to be the berry-flavored ones." He brings out an opened package of Starburst. There's a couple missing, but most are still intact. Better, they're not just berry. The package reads 'Berries and Cream'!

"Mmmm..." Tink considers audibly before decreeing, "no excuse! I like him not!" She frowns at the mention of no berries being available for offering. "I asked for a berry," she reminds, before putting a skeptical gaze on the pack of Starburst, "these don't look like stars to me! Are you trying to trick me?" She asks, a veiled threat notable in her question.

Hiroto shakes his head. "Not at all." To the question of trying to trick her. He removes one of the square-shaped candies from the package and starts to unwrap it. And the sweet scent is almost immediately in the air. Hiroto sniffs a little. "This one wants to be blueberry," he observes. "It's candy. Ostensibly, they take the juice from berries, mix it into a sweet fondant, and shape them into squares like this."

"Sweet!" Tinkerbell remarks as soon as she can smell the candy, the scent quite intense after the wrappper is removed. "It's a crime against berries!" Tinkerbell notes, quite aghast at the process, but never the less, the sweet scent is draw enough to try one. "I will try this starburst of yours," she notes and flies surprisingly fast, snatching the cube in both hands, before landing back on Hiroto's shoulder. She takes a tiny little nibble at it, and starts chewing surprisingly loud for such a tiny creature.

Hiroto resists the urge to say something along the lines of 'wait until you hear what we do to grapes'. The pixie would probably quite offended by the concept of squashing grapes and letting the juice basically rot. Instead he notes, "Humans can be barbaric. But I do like the taste of these." To preclude any further comments along those lines, he picks out one for himself, briefly sniffing at it to determine what kind it is before unwrapping it. "What do you think?" he asks, before eating the one he'd unwrapped for himself. He isn't worried if she doesn't like it. There's a store not far from here, and he can afford some actual berries if necessary.

"It's sweet. I know what it is! It's candy!" Tink has spent ample time entertaining children, she's gotten to taste candy before, and she does quite like it. But then again, pixies do appreciate the sweet things in life. Even if sometimes they can be artificial. Gifts of sugar cubes are quite lovely after all. "I will eat this starburst." She informs Hiroto as she keeps at it, the cube of starburst serving as an extra large size treat after all.
