Willow Rosenberg wakes up, after her brain drain, and visits Hyperion, meeting up with Angel.

Hyperion Hotel San Francisco

The Hyperion Hotel[]

The lights are on, illuminating the area.

The California-Spanish building known as the Hyperion Hotel was built in the 20s. Through the cast iron gates from the sidewalk is a small front courtyard with a rectangular fountain and a mythological figure holding a bowl from which water flows. Greenery frames the walls and a large set of glass double doors open into a high ceilinged lobby. Dark red carpet descends the four steps to the lobby floor and climb the two sets of stairways that lead to the second floor. The green marble floors are accented with wavy red inserts, as are the walls have a complimentary red border running their length. A set of doors identical to those of the entrance lead to a small enclosed garden.

Cream-colored pillars line two sides of the room, holding up the second-floor balconies that look out onto the lobby and creating arches. Underneath one of them is a large plate glass window that looks into the hotel office - now used as the office and nerve center of Angel Investigations. Nearby, there's a wraparound counter with dark wood paneling and a top the same color as the floor. Behind it are filing cabinets and a pair of desks pushed together. A navy blue circular couch harkening back to a 50s design sits near the back of the lobby. A large wooden, glass-doored cabinet pushed up against the wall holds a large assortment of weapons.

Outside, it's raining and chilly.

This Hotel, once in Los Angeles, got magically transported to San Francisco last year. Since then, Angel Investigations has been operating notably north of where it used to be. Angel now runs his investigations here in San Francisco, and most of the Sunnydale and Los Angeles teams have gathered here with him. At the moment, he's doing some of the unfortunate paperwork that comes with the job. Of significantly MORE note, is that even though it's raining outside, he doesn't seem overly concerned about doing things in the daytime. And moreover, he has a strange aura of magic around him now. One that's especially odd to see on the Autumn Equinox, because it feels a lot more like Spring.

Magic, such as it was, /was/ a speciality of the burgeoning young witch.

Who was decidedly less crazy these days. Because crazy was... well... crazy! So, packing a little satchel full of books and supplies, Willow - such as she was, at least, wearing a light pink knit sweater with too-long sleeves, denims with flared bottoms, and sandals, strides into the hotel. Well. Maybe not stride. More like... knock and stick her head in, the satchel kinda drawing down to her left hip.

"So, um... hi! Is Giles around?" she asks.

Angel is genuinely pleased to see Willow, and says, "Not right now. He lives elsewhere. Most everyone else is here. I'll expect you'll see Faith and Buffy soon enough. I'm glad you're alright." Willow, in a cute fuzzy sweater, the same woman who activated all Slayers and restored his soul before the Witch's Council came up with something a little more permanent. "Come in, Willow."

Yes. The Witch's Council! Who totally was okay with a novice witch screwing with the laws of reality. At least - Slay..ereality.

"Well, I mean, I don't remember too much before I woke up in the hospital - but the flowers! The flowers were nice," she says, holding up one of the cards that people no doubt said. "Get Wellow. I think that's Xander," she says, beaming a toothy little smile as she looks up from card to vampire.

"So, um. Glory - is she still... well... Glory?" she asks.

It wasn't. "Xander was drained the same time you were, remember? Buffy came up with that one." It does sound like something Xander would say, though. Not that the guy ever liked Angel much. And then, "No. The battle took place in the Nevernever's Winter Court. Glory was using the Key...Dawn...to open the gate that held the Outsiders out. The outsiders were using her as a tool. Dawn and Cordy managed to appeal to her sense of 'nobody uses a god!' and she turned on them, and her apparent destruction...or at least, banishment to the world of the Outsiders closed the gates. Doctor Ben was left behind, he didn't die with her, thanks mostly to Scott."

Willow brings up a hand to kinda scratch the side of her nose, glancing back towards the door, then back up again.

"...Xander! That's right! He's still at the hospital!" A beat, and she lowers her voice conspiratorially, "I think he likes the food there," she adds with a nod. "I... um... okay. About all that that happened. I mean, it sounds very exciting," she says, letting a smile lift up unto her cheeks again.

Angel halfsmiled, "She beat the odds again. I had everyone from random psychic kids to the Winter Queen of Faerie Queen Mab predicting Buffy wouldn't survive this one. And yet, she's completely fine." And then, Xander likes hospital food? Angel doesn't eat, much, but he's always heard from Buffy that hospitals were terrible things and nobody should eat there. "Xander has his own taste." That, as far as he can tell, nobody shares.

"That's our Buffy! Always surviving when people say it's the end of the world and things," she says. "Like they've said, like... a hundred times by now," says Willow, pausing a handful of moments then. "So, uh. I guess if Giles isn't here, I should maybe go try to find him? I think I have a book of his I need to return," she says, patting her satchel. "And I know he isn't really the librarian anymore, but," a pause. "It's the principle of the thing! Plus, I don't want to pay a fine."

Angel almost laughs, in that amused guy who broods too much sort of way. "Can't have that. He might look sternly at you and clean his glasses." Truly, a terrible fate to bestow on poor Willow. "Come back when you can. A lot of people miss seeing you."

"You mean, they miss seeing the not-crazy me," says Willow, with a smile. "That's fine, though, I'm kinda happy not being crazy. I'll stop by! I'll bring cookies next time," she says, smiling. "And yes, stern Giles is the one fate I don't want to encounter!" she says.

"We stopped by when you were...under Glory's influence. I don't know if you remember seeing us, but we were up there visiting both of you when we could. There's a few other things I should catch you up on when we have the time, like the fact there's a werewolf pack up in Beacon Hills, and the Witch's Council over at Rowanwood." He phrases that as if he's well familiar with both factions.

Willow winces a bit, the witch kinda crinkling her nose as she points towards the door. "Okay. I'll catch up with you later, Angel," she says.

Angel waves. It is a very good feeling to see Willow being Willow again, instead of, well...as she was. "Stop by when you want." And then, well, Angel's got paperwork to do.
