There's definitely something about Melissa, who manages to break Glory's hold over Liam.

August 18, 2016: The Full Moon
Beacon Hills, Eichen House

In a small room in Eichen House, a teenage wolf's howls stopped once again. Liam had been moved from the hospital the special ward at Eichen House under Dr. Deaton's watchful gaze once it was clear that in his brain-drained state that he couldn't keep his supernatural secrets. He wasn't exactly a danger to others, but the randomly glowing eyes and half shifting would have been hard to explain to civilians. The howls stopped as he once again drifted off to sleep and the nightmares started again. They usually centered on his ex, Ethan. Things would start out normal, then get scary and devolve into Ethan asking where the "Key" was over and over.

It started like the other dreams. He was in Ethan's house, about to cuddle his boyfriend, when Ethan started to devolve and look zombieish, saying, "Where's the Key? Where's the Key?" This was the part where things usually got weird and he ended up in a nightmarish setting. For the first time, however, the dream was different. This time, instead he heard a familiar feminine voice, matter-of-fact yet wry, that he knew even better than his own mother's. "The only reason Ethan would be asking for a Key would be if you were the Keymaster and he was the Gatekeeper." With that, a pale silver light surrounded him in his dream, and Melissa McCall was there, looking perfectly serene. "Lets see about getting you out of here."

Back in the real world, Melissa herself had left the Hospital mid-shift. The full moon shone down upon her while she drove as if possessed towards Eichen House. Unbeknownst to her, she was glowing ever-so-slightly, as if reflecting and amplifying the moonlight. Once she got to Eichen House, she opened the door to her car, and in its wake the Toyota's two rear doors also opened and shut. Scott and Derek stood behind her.

"Puppy, I'm sorry! Come back and tell me where the Key is." Back in the dream, Ethan was trying harder, and rather than it devolving, it seemed to be turning seductive.

Liam, however, was starting to shake free of the nightmare. "You left me! You're not real."

"That's right. The real Ethan always smelled like actual nookie, not a perfume so tacky that not even Scott's father would like it." Again Melissa was speaking in his dream. Or was it Melissa? This seemed different, but still very familiar and maternal.

"It's not tacky, bitch." And the hunky blond was replaced with a far more svelte, female--and, to Liam's mind, skankier--blonde, as Glory appeared in his nightmare. She reached out to grab the puppy by the scruff. "Tell me where the Key is, you little brat!"

With that, the dream manifestation of Glory found herself flung across the room. Dream-Melissa's voice said in a deadly calm, "Get your damn hands off my puppy." She walked forward in pure mama-wolf mode. "First you attack me, then you attack my second Son. Now you attacked my pack. These kids are mine. /Back. The Hell. Off./" Melissa was full-on glowing then, radiating the Moon's light.

"Melissa? Derek? Scott? You can't be in here." Deaton was trying to block the three who were all moving as if possessed. With quick scuffs of her shoe, Melissa broke any mountain ash barriers that would stop the two alphas.

The dream manifestation of Glory attempted to stand, attempted to change the dreamscape, but she couldn't. She didn't appear to be able to do anything, and she began to slowly fade away. Melissa said, "Wake up, Liam. Your alarm is going off." In the distance Liam could hear a familiar sound, coming in stereo--a sound that made his eyes glow the pure gold of an innocent wolf pup.

Dual alpha howls pierced the night. One, the true alpha who created Liam, the other the scion of Hale Family, protector of Beacon Hills. Liam suddenly sat bolt upright, eyes glowing, and found himself joining in the howl, too. When the moment passed, all traces of insanity had gone from his face. Blinking up at the others, he asked, "Anyone got a Powerbar?"

Meanwhile, sipping some boxed Franzia, the actual, flesh-and-blood Glory found herself suddenly very cross. Something had just happened--something she couldn't even identify. She'd never lost the connection to one of her victims before, so she didn't know what it felt like. Couldn't even know what was missing. All she knew was the sudden, stabbing pain in her temples. "Someone shut those curtains," she barked. "The Moon is pissing me off right now." As one of her minions raced to do that, she massaged her temples with one hand, gradually feeling slightly better. Now, if she just knew why she wanted to punch someone... a mother. Her next meal was definitely going to be someone's mother.
